Anxiety

Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress. It helps us deal with a tense situation in the office, study harder for an exam, or keep focused on environmental threats. In general, it helps us to cope. But when anxiety becomes an excessive, irrational dread of everyday situations, it has become a disabling disorder. Left untreated, anxiety disorders can worsen, but with psychotherapy and sometimes medication, most people show dramatic improvements.
